As a mom and an educator I have had the unique experience of sitting on both sides of the desk. My son Michael is now an adult with Charge Syndrome and Autism. He has taught me many lessons about advocacy and prioritizing what is important to a good quality of adult life. As a recently retired Supervisor for a secondary school for students with Autism, I have attended hundreds of IEP meetings and worked collaboratively with parents to insure their students reach successful outcomes. This blog is is my way of reflecting, connecting and sharing what has worked and what might work better. I hope readers will do the same!
